Grapefruit

"Grapefruit is an Artist's book written by Yoko Ono, originally published in 1964. It has become famous as an early example of Conceptual art, containing a series of 'event scores' that replace the physical work of art - the traditional stock-in-trade of artists - with instructions that an individual may, or may not, wish to enact."

i collected daily positive moments through e-mail, and am now sending them back to the individuals. their moments are on the front and their addresses are on the top left, as they originally sent these messages. i hope they all get back all right!

"David Huyck asked me to contribute something to Vol 1. Edition 3 of his Cloudy Collection, on the theme of “Scarlet Lettering”. Printed letterpress in red plus blind deboss, this is perhaps the most difficult-to-read piece I’ve made yet."

Mail Art

"Mail art is art which uses the postal system as a medium... Mail artists typically exchange ephemera in the form of illustrated letters, zines, rubberstamped, decorated or illustrated envelopes, artist trading cards, postcards, artistamps, faux postage, mail-interviews, naked mail, friendship books, decos, and three-dimensional objects."

"Naked Mail is a form of Mail art wherein the sender will send an item in the postal system without any sort of wrapping or protection that one might normally use, such as envelopes or Kraft paper. Due to its tendency to aggravate postal employees, Naked Mail is sometimes referred to as TTPO which stands for "Torture The Post Office"... The purpose of sending naked mail is varied - some ask for participation from the postal workers themselves (such as cameramail) and incorporate that into the art. Others simply just want to see if their item will make it at all to its destination (such as those sent in the P22 mail art project)."

Green Architecture Exhibit

"C&G Partners designed this innovative green exhibit, along with an interactive kiosk and website, for the AIA."
The poster tubes are used to create a framework to display the posters, then the posters are packed up and sent to the next location in these same tubes!

LIBERTY / SVOBODA

"The 10-foot-high, custom-drawn, dimensional letterforms create a sculptural installation that changes language depending on direction of approach, either “LIBERTY” or the same word with the same amount of letters in Czech, “SVOBODA.” LIBERTY is opaque colored glass; SVOBODA is stainless steel. Each letter pair intersects on a central vertical axis; the shapes required intensive engineering to create the minimal, graceful final result."
